Rayno Nel swept Saturday’s events but Mitchell Hooper was able to chip away at that lead with a massive Log Lift and a strong showing in the Atlas Stones to win the 2026 World’s Strongest Man Title.

The World’s Strongest Man competition was established in 1977 to answer the adage, “Who is the strongest man in the world?” Since then, WSM has crowned champions the world over – legends such as Mariusz Pudzianowski, Eddie Hall, Žydrūnas Savickas, and the late Jón Páll Sigmarsson.

Despite not winning a single event all weekend, Mitchell Hooper won the 2026 World's Strongest Man event, defeating Rayno Nel for his second title.

The quest for the title of World’s Strongest Man begins Thursday, April 23 and culminates on Sunday, April 26 when a champion is crowned. In partnership with Visit Myrtle Beach, the 49th edition of the SBD World’s Strongest Man offers general admission seating and four-days of action-packed competition around the main stage.
