Epoxy terrazzo works as an overlay over existing surfaces like tile, wood, brick, and plywood. Saves on demolition costs for new floors.

What is Terrazzo? What is terrazzo? To answer that question, it is a building material capable of forming many unique finishes. If to sum up the building material in one sentence, terrazzo is described as a composite material, poured in place or prefabricated for precast terrazzo which is used for flooring, base, walls, stair treads, countertops, and other custom products. Terrazzo consists of ...

Terrazzo originated from Venice, Italy in the mid-16th century. Terrazzo, which means β€œterrace”, was once made by pressing marble pieces into a clay surface and sealing it off with goat milk for a mosaic-like finish, creating inexpensive flooring at the time. Today terrazzo is poured-in-place by installers, cured, and ground to create a smooth, polished surface.

Terrazzo floors offer durability, design flexibility, and low maintenance, and TERRAZZCO supplies all the materials to design a custom floor.

Epoxy terrazzo is a thin-set terrazzo system that offers the lowest maintenance costs and quickest pour-to-grind duration. Under the right conditions, terrazzo can cure overnight and ready to grind and polish the following day. Compared to cement terrazzo, epoxy terrazzo is stronger and durable and is less susceptible to surface cracks.

Terrazzo may have a higher initial cost than some flooring options available, but over time terrazzo is cost-effective. Because terrazzo requires less frequent replacements and low maintenance in comparison to materials like carpet or tile, terrazzo is a great option, especially for high-traffic areas.
